Instagram Channel Prerequisites

In order to have the Instagram channel working on Zipchat, your brand needs:

• a Facebook page

• a Professional Instagram account - personal Instagram accounts are not supported

• Facebook page connected with the Professional Instagram account

The following message means your agent is missing one of the prerequisites above:

Professional Instagram Account

Your Instagram account must be a professional account (Creator or Business). If your brand is currently using a personal account, no worries - you’ll just need to switch it to a professional profile before enabling the Instagram channel on Zipchat.

Connecting your Facebook Page with the Instagram Account

1. Visit https://business.facebook.com/ on a browser.

2. Ensure you have the proper Business Portfolio selected on the left-hand side menu.

3. Go to "Accounts" -> "Pages" and select the Facebook page of your brand:

1. Click "Connect assets" and pick "Instagram account":

1. Login with your Professional Instagram account:

1. Allow access to Instagram messages in inbox:

1. Click "Done" to finish:

1. Go back to the "Chat settings" page on Zipchat, click "Confirm setup" and authorize your Facebook page/Instagram account again:

1. If everything is all right you should see following status after refreshing the page:

In case you still see "Action required" after refreshing the page it means there is something missing. Go back and review the steps above.
