Adding multiple pages to your knowledge base

Zipchat allows you to add pages to your knowledge base both automatically and manually, giving you full control over the content your AI can reference.

Initial Bulk Scan

When you first set up Zipchat, the AI performs an initial bulk scan of your website. This Initial Scrawl automatically scans all available pages and adds them to your knowledge base in bulk. No manual action is required during this step.

Manually Adding Pages

After the initial scan, you can manually add pages to your knowledge base:

Go to Zipchat > AI Training > Knowledge Base > Add a New Source. Here, you can:

  • Add a Single Page – Enter the URL of a page you want to include.

  • Add Multiple Pages – Enter the generic site URL (without folders or subpages). Zipchat will scan all pages that haven’t been previously added and include them in your knowledge base.

  • Add Sitemap – Use your site’s sitemap to add all listed pages automatically.

This allows you to add pages individually or in bulk, depending on your needs.

Concurrent Scans and Updates

Zipchat ensures your knowledge base stays up to date with automatic scheduled scans:

  • Starter and Growth Plans – Weekly scans

  • Pro, Scale, and Enterprise Plans – Daily scans

These scans check for new pages and updates to existing pages, keeping your knowledge base current.

Hard Reset / Rescan

If the initial scroll was incomplete, blocked (e.g., via Cloudflare), or something went wrong during the scan, you can request a hard reset / rescan through the support team. This will reprocess your website and update your knowledge base accordingly.
