AppSumo License: Redeem, Activate & Get Started
Welcome, Sumo-ling! 👋
You just grabbed Zipchat AI on AppSumo. Great choice. This guide walks you through every step to redeem your license, create your account, and launch your first AI agent. The whole process takes about 3 minutes.
Step 1: Find Your Zipchat AI Purchase on AppSumo
Log in to your AppSumo account and head to Products.
You can get there in two ways:
Click Products in the left sidebar, or
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Products from the dropdown menu.
You'll see Zipchat AI (License Tier 1) listed under your active products.
Step 2: Open the Activation Page
From the Products page, click "Activate now" next to your Zipchat AI purchase.
This takes you to the Activate your purchase page for Zipchat AI.
⏰ Important: You must activate your license before the deadline shown (e.g., March 21, 2026). After that date, the license expires and can no longer be activated.
Step 3: Choose Add-Ons (Optional)
Before activating, you'll see an Available add-ons section. These are completely optional. You can skip them and activate with just your base license.
The available add-ons include:
Remove "Powered by Zipchat" branding for +$99 (one-time)
Website deployments at $125 per 25 extra website deployments (up to 100)
Extra monthly pages at $50 per 10,000 extra pages (up to 40,000)
⚠️ Add-ons are non-refundable, so only purchase them if you're sure you need them. You can always add them later.
If you don't need any add-ons, just ignore this section.
Step 4: Click "Activate Now"
Once you're ready, click the yellow "Activate now" button on the activation page.
A popup will appear with an important message:
Before you activate: Please make sure you're logged out of all existing accounts on the Zipchat AI website. This ensures your AppSumo license is correctly attached to the right account and prevents activation issues. 👀
If you've never used Zipchat before, you're good to go. Just click "Activate".
If you already have a Zipchat account, open a new tab, go to app.zipchat.ai, log out first, then come back and click "Activate".
Note: you cannot activate an AppSumo licence on an account or store previosly activated on Zipchat. Since the deal is limited and for new client only, you need a new account and a new store/site.
Step 5: Allow AppSumo to Connect with Zipchat AI
After clicking Activate, a permissions dialog will appear asking you to let Zipchat AI read your AppSumo license key.
This is standard and safe. It simply allows Zipchat to verify your purchase and set up your account with the correct plan.
Click "Allow" to continue.
Step 6: Create Your Zipchat AI Account
You'll land on the Zipchat + AppSumo signup page.
Fill in:
Email : Use the email you want for your Zipchat account (you'll need to confirm it).
Password : Minimum 8 characters (12 recommended for best security).
Confirm Password : Re-enter the same password.
Then click "Sign up".
Your AppSumo license will be automatically linked to this new account. No codes or keys to enter.
Step 7: Create Your First AI Agent
After signing up, you'll be taken to your Zipchat dashboard.
Click the "Create agent" button on the right side of the screen.
A dialog will appear asking for your website URL. Enter the full URL of your online store (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com) and click "Create".
Zipchat will immediately start crawling your website to build the AI's knowledge base, learning about your products, pages, and content so it can start helping your customers right away.
🎉 That's It. You're Live!
Your AI agent is now being created and trained on your website data. From here, you can:
Customize your chat widget to match your brand
Train your AI agent with additional knowledge (PDFs, FAQs, custom instructions)
Install the chat script on your website, Account > Chat Settings > Scripts & Integrations
Test your chatbot to make sure everything works perfectly

Managing Your AppSumo License
You can manage your Zipchat AI license anytime from your AppSumo Products page.
Click the "Select" dropdown next to your Zipchat AI purchase to access these options:
Redemption information : View details about your license and activation status
View invoice : Download your purchase receipt
Product details : See the full product listing page
Refund : Request a refund (see below)
How to Purchase Add-Ons After Activation
If you skipped add-ons during activation and want to grab them later, here's how:
Go to your AppSumo Products page.
Click "Select" next to Zipchat AI.
Select "Redemption information" or visit the activation page.
Scroll down to "Available add-ons".
Select the add-ons you want and complete the purchase.
Add-ons are linked to your license tier and will be automatically activated in your Zipchat account.
Remember: Add-ons are non-refundable, so make sure you need them before purchasing.
How to Request a Refund
Your AppSumo purchase is backed by a 60-day money-back guarantee. If Zipchat isn't the right fit, here's how to request a refund:
Go to your AppSumo Products page.
Click "Select" next to Zipchat AI.
Select "Refund" from the dropdown.
Follow the prompts to complete your refund request.

Note: Refunds are eligible through the date shown on your activation page (e.g., "Eligible through March 21, 2026"). Add-ons purchased separately are non-refundable.
